ISTJ & the Zodiac

The ISTJ personality is referred to as the “logistical inspector” by David Keirsey in his book “Please Understand Me 2”. ISTJs are regarded for their assiduous nature and attention to detail. They are reserved and responsible individuals who can be counted on to get the job done in a timely and respectable manner. In astrology, the ISTJ type is most similar to the Capricorn, Scorpio or Virgo zodiac signs but obviously, ISTJs come in all zodiac flavors. Here is an assessment of how we’d expect the ISTJ personality type to vary under each astrology sign. Continue reading

The ISFJ is described as the “logistical protector” by David Keirsey in his book “Please Understand Me 2”. ISFJs are driven to be of service to others and they take special gratification from performing such acts. No two ISFJs are completely alike however and so we wonder whether astrology has anything to do with it. Here is a look at how we’d expect the ISFJ personality to vary based on zodiac sign. ENTJ and Astrology Signs

The ENTJ MBTI personality is a type that David Keirsey dubbed as the “Fieldmarshal”. These individuals are noted for their forceful and decisive pragmatism and skeptical nature and also the efficiency with which they coordinate and strategize. They form less than 2% of the population yet statistically earn the most money of all the 16 MBTI types. ENTJs tend to find themselves in positions of leadership and examples of such ENTJ leaders include General Douglas MacArthur and Dwight D. Eisenhower. However, not all ENTJs will ascend to such positions and many may not even be interested in the military. No two ENTJs are completely alike and so here is a look at how we’d expect the ENTJ personality to vary based on Zodiac sign.

    ESFJ and the Zodiac

The ESFJ personality has been dubbed as the “Logistical Provider” by David Keirsey in his book “Please Understand Me II”. As such, the ESFJ personality is noted for their desire to nurture and make provisions for the people around them. They work to make people feel welcome and valued and strive to create a harmonious and comfortable environment within which people can thrive and feel safe. Cultivating team cohesion is their strength although sometimes their efforts can backfire. Like all MBTI personalities, there is a lot of variation among those who share this type. No two ESFJs are completely alike and it could be that zodiac sign might contribute to some of the nuances between them. Here is an assessment of how each ESFJ may differ based on astrology sign. ESTJ and the Zodiac

The ESTJ has been dubbed the “logistical supervisor” by David Keirsey and as such, the ESTJ is typified by their executive prowess and ability to organize and manage systems and groups on an impersonal and factual basis. However, much like the rest of the MBTI types, if you were to take a handful of ESTJs from the population you would no doubt find that there is a considerable amount of variation amongst them. The MBTI doesn’t account for all aspects of personality and even the degree to which you qualify as a given MBTI type will vary compared with others sharing the same type. Might astrology contribute to this? Who knows, but here is a speculative assessment of how each ESTJ may differ based on zodiac sign. Continue reading

    ESFP and the Zodiac

The difference between astrology and the MBTI is that where astrology prescribes your personality traits, the Myers-Briggs defines your personality type by your self-reported preferences. Many people feel they do, more or less, identify with their zodiac sign, but if they don’t, astrologers can almost always find a convenient rationalization for ‘why’ by examining the natal chart. You are more likely to categorically identify with your MBTI type since it is derived from actual characteristics of real people who share the same preferences as you. At any rate, here is an assessment of how the ESFP personality may vary by zodiac sign. Continue reading

The ESTP personality is described as an extraverted thrill seeker who thrives on stimulating experiences. They are very aware of their surroundings and highly perceptive of the details and people in their environment. Moreover, they are keen observers of people’s body language and this allows them to read people well and use this knowledge to persuade and influence others. Still, no two ESTPs are completely alike, but could it be that astrology sign has anything to do with it? How might an Aries ESTP compare with a Capricorn ESTP? Here is an interpretation for how the ESTP personality might potentially be modified based on Zodiac sign. Continue reading

12 SHADES OF ENFJ | MBTI & THE ZODIAC

    Published by:

    ENFJ ZODIAC SIGNS

ENFJ and Astrology Signs: Zodiac and the MBTI

No two ENFJs are completely alike. Everyone of us has a unique experience and that experience has a seismic impact on how our personalities develop along with the panoply of psychological issues that may arise out of them. The Myers-Briggs is a great tool for sketching out a profile of who we are based on our self-reported behavior preferences, but the picture it paints is not a complete one.

The Myers-Briggs does not account for all the idiosyncratic personality traits that are too specific or simply outside the bounds of what the 8 cognitive functions could accurately encompass. The MBTI cannot explain for example, why one INTP enjoys baseball and another INTP loathes it, or why one ENFJ is way more family-oriented than another.

    ISTP Zodiac Signs

[dropcap]B[/dropcap]asically, ISTPs are a lot like INTPs but less interested in theories and abstract concepts and more interested in understanding tangible systems and methods that they can use and interact with. In addition to this, ISTPs are known to be rather cool under fire and their extraverted sense preference makes them very handy in an emergency.

No two ISTPs are totally alike however, and the strength of the cognitive preferences and ego development will vary from ISTP to ISTP. Not everyone seems to exhibit the stereotypical traits often described of their type. There are obvious reasons for this variation, much of which may be attributed to the unique background and experiences of each individual. But what if astrology sign is a relevant factor? And by the way, there is more to astrology than just your sun sign. If you haven’t already, check out all of your planetary aspects with this natal chart widget.

Indulge me now, if you will, as I offer up an interpretation of how the ISTP Myers-Briggs personality may be expressed under each of the 12 zodiac signs.

    Published by:

[dropcap]N[/dropcap]o two ENTPs are completely alike. Sure they may all qualify as ENTP, but to what degree? Variations among the MBTI types have been attributed to factors such as maturity and level of development of the type’s composite functions. But what if astrology signs played a role as well? Most people are likely to have known their astrology sign long before learning about their MBTI type. It is possible that some people’s self image may be heavily shaped by their understanding of their astrology sign and consequently may behave more like their sign simply because they believe it. Some individuals might feel their zodiac sign really resonates with who they truly are but is it a coincidence or evidence of something more?

Here is an interpretation of how the ENTP personality type may vary under each of the 12 zodiac signs.

12 Variations of INTJ: MBTI and the Zodiac

“We are born at a given moment, in a given place and, like vintage years of wine, we have the qualities of the year and of the season of which we are born. Astrology does not lay claim to anything more.”
    - Carl Jung
[dropcap]F[/dropcap]rom what I’ve observed, many MBTI snobs turn their noses up at the mere mention of astrology. As though it were intellectually beneath them. But how many of those people realize that Carl Jung, the godfather of the MBTI, saw value in astrology? From reading an assortment of quotes by Jung on the topic, it is clear that he was inclined to believe there exists some relationship between events on earth and the cosmos that we have yet to understand. This notion is closely tied to other ethereal concepts he entertained such as the “collective unconscious” and synchronicity.

The Myers Briggs has been growing more mainstream in recent times while interest in astrology appears to be gradually declining. Just compare these two charts from google trends showing the search volume from 2004 to 2016 for keywords “Myers Briggs” and “astrology”. Continue reading

[dropcap]E[/dropcap]veryone has a zodiac sign and everybody has got a Myers Briggs type. Is there a correlation? Apparently not. Judging from a MBTI + zodiac poll posted by astroligion, the distribution of astrology signs across each MBTI type is fairly even. There is no strong 1 to 1 correlation, but as you might expect, there is an over-representation of introverted Myers Briggs types because well, we all know introverts dominate the internet.

It is worth noting that there is a high prevalence of water signs among the INFJ type. Water signs and INFJs are both emotional so hmmmmmm. Continue reading

    INFJ and Zodiac

[dropcap]E[/dropcap]veryone has a zodiac sign and you likely knew what yours was long before you ever discovered the Myers Briggs. Some people don’t completely identify with their star sign personality traits but everybody is generally on board with the descriptions about their MBTI type. You can check out this poll surveying people’s zodiac signs and MBTI types. This is understandable since your zodiac sign is determined by your date of birth (something you had no control over) whereas your Myers Briggs type is determined by your self-determined preferences. There is little to no science supporting a cosmic influence on one’s personality except for a few studies showing that people with certain mental disorders such as schizophrenia tend to be born in winter months (especially February). Personally, I don’t take astrology seriously but I do take an interest in it. I’ve noticed that there are many MBTI snobs who are staunchly against it and there are some “astrology people” who similarly view the MBTI as bogus and flawed. I imagine that most people fall somewhere in the middle with an interest in one and a mild indifference for the other. For the INFJ types out there, here are interpretations of 12 different versions of the INFJ personality based on the 12 zodiac star signs.
