ENTP

weirdo score: 8/10

[dropcap]E[/dropcap]NTPs are bright with a touch of madness like Doc Brown in “Back to the Future”. ENTPs, like INTPs entertain many possibilities and are therefore highly creative and inventive. But relative to the INTP, ENTPs spend more time generating new ideas than understanding them. With Introverted Sensing in their inferior slot, ENTPs hold very little interest in adhering to traditions and established ways of doing things. They are unorthodox and they love challenging the staus quo and testing the limits of what is acceptable. ENTPs can be very quirky provocateurs with a unique charm that allows them to be popular despite their eccentricity.

ENTPs are probably the strangest mbti type next to INFPs. They believe they are odd, and like to accentuate this by behaving and or dressing in a shocking manner. Are drawn to artistic and edgy interests, and wants to be as independent from society as possible. Very expressive, and verbal; most people think they are crazy or random. They frequently reinvent themselves, are unpredictable, and drawn to creative careers. They are more abstract than concrete, and grew up feeling that they had to stand out to be happy. Gravitate to the counter culture, and are dissatisfied with the ordinary and non-dramatic. Prefers weird friends, and think themselves trend setters. They live an experimental life, driven by curiosity, recklessness, and novelty seeking. Agreeing with people is boring.

The ENFP section is pretty off at the beginning. Due to our Fi, we don’t really feel comfortable with sharing deep secrets and emotions with others unless we are very close to them. Just a petty little observation.

For the INFJ section, I feel that the explanation of “weirdness” wasn’t really addressed. It mainly talked about the darker side of INFJs, but nothing to do with quirkiness. For example, INFJs can have a surprisingly dark sense of humor despite their sweetness and innocent appearance at times. And depending on how they’ve developed, they may have a dirty mind, most likely influenced by the company they keep, as well as their development and use of Ni and Se.

As an ENTJ, we are not inherently self centered or narcissistic. 1st of all, narcissism is a mental disorder, so anyone of any type can get it. 2nd of all, we’re goal oriented and do seek success, but that doesn’t mean we’re self centered. Many of us have goals to help people less fortunate than we are, myself included. This often is connected to our strong sense of justice. The entj you described in the first paragraph seems like a very unhealthy one, and while they exist, it’s unfair to compare all of us to one bad person, which is something that unfortunately happens a lot with ENTJs.
