In astrology, Capricorn and Scorpio are the 10th and 8th zodiac signs respectively, but in a relationship, are they compatible? How well do Capricorn and Scorpio get along? When considering the chemistry between one person and another, it is necessary to look at the actual birth charts of each individual as sun sign alone is generally not regarded as a sufficient basis. Nevertheless, here is a general overview of the different aspects of these two signs and the dynamic of their friendship or love relationship compatibility.

Capricorn and Scorpio Attraction

Capricorn and Scorpio are similarly driven and ambitious but their motivations generally differ. For Scorpio, it is mostly power, and control that they seek while Capricorn vies for status and security. To this end, Scorpio and Capricorn compatibility may hinge on their mutual focus on conquering their respective goals.

Scorpio is strongly attracted to the physical form but they also want emotional connection. Many Scorpios are susceptible to jealousy and vengefulness which is why loyalty and trust is so important to them. They want to own their partners in mind body and soul and some Scorpios may exhibit control issues in their relationships.

This might pose an issue for Capricorn as Capricorns also have a desire to be in charge. They can be very bossy in the way they manage their relationships as well as their careers. They may not be willing to relinquish the amount of decision making power Scorpio may be inclined to take and so arguments and fights may arise out of this power struggle.

Capricorn for their part, would like to be with someone who can hold them down and provide a sanctuary of love and affection away from the madness they encounter on the battlefield of their careers and public lives. Capricorns can be workaholics but they also enjoy being with family and playing an active part in their children’s lives. Capricorns plan for the future and they focus on building security and legacy that establishes them as the cornerstone within their community.

Together, Capricorn and Scorpio as a couple can function as an excellent team if they can combine their characteristic strengths while avoiding trying to overpower or subjugate each other. Scorpio can bring out Capricorn’s often repressed libido and provide a partner with whom Capricorn can really unleash their mojo. Capricorn will appreciate Scorpio’s loyalty although due to their highly lascivious nature, Scorpios may sometimes falter in their fealty.

Scorpio will likely admire Capricorn’s calm and stoic presence. Scorpio can be intense and emotional and may get caught up in their own destructive feelings. Capricorn can provide a perspective that is practical, down to earth and objective. Although Capricorns are prone to depressive thoughts, they generally have better, more pragmatic coping mechanisms than what an emotional water sign like Scorpio might employ. Capricorn can offer rational advice and an attentive ear to Scorpio when they are distraught and upset.

Capricorn and Scorpio Friendship

As friends, Capricorn and Scorpio may butt heads yet admire in each other their saucy character and take-charge mentality. These two signs have certain similarities that may engender a strong bond between them. Capricorn and Scorpio together can be formidable as a business partnership. They are both astute and shrewd observers of human behavior and as such are able to manipulate and be a bit cutthroat along with the rest of the sharks in the business world.

Capricorn and Scorpio may both share a taste for dark humor and sarcasm. These two signs tend to take life a bit seriously but at the same time draw amusement from some of the irony and absurdity surrounding life itself especially with regards to death, karma and religion. As pals, good friends and bosom buddies, Capricorn and Scorpio have a good chance at forming a strong bond around the fact that they are on a similar wavelength. They are both a bit cagey and secretive but in each other they may find a special confidante in whom they can divulge some their innermost secrets.

Capricorn and Scorpio In A Fight

Disputes may arise as a result of Capricorn and Scorpio’s strong but conflicting personality traits. These two signs are both strong minded and sometimes confrontational. They have a tendency to assert their will and when they are confronted or thwarted, it may erupt into an intense battle of wills. Capricorn and Scorpio may be at loggerheads due to an unwillingness to yield or compromise their respective values or interests.

They may  feel disrespected by perceived slights or exhibit passive aggressive behavior that may only exacerbate strife rather than help it. Communication may be the key to harmonious rapport and understanding between Capricorn and Scorpio. These two both have a propensity for concealing what really bothers them or disclosing themselves and being emotionally vulnerable. Scorpio is slightly better at paying attention to what they feel and why they feel it as part of their ability to self-heal and assuage their psychic pain.

But even still, their feelings can quickly escalate into outbursts when they are under stress. Capricorn by contrast, may be less in tune with their feelings and may be unaware of what is really eating them when they lash out. In many cases, both signs may tend to withdraw from each other and seek space where they can either regroup and assess the situation and return with better insight or drift further away and end the relationship..
