How Each Zodiac Sign Handles Rejection

In astrology, the sun sign is specifically tied to ego, pride and self worth and so it is very relevant in informing how one might respond to rejection. Here is a brief take on each zodiac sign’s handling of rejection:

Aries ♈︎

For Aries, it can be hard not to take rejection personally, but in the end, they chalk it up to being the other person’s loss. Aries is something of an optimist who is able to keep it moving after taking an “L”. They are generally confident in their ability to find greener pastures and people who appreciate what they have to offer.

Taurus ♉︎

Taurus is probably the best at handling rejection. Although they are keen to build up their sense of worth as a person, they do not rely on other people to validate their worth. Their sense of worth tends to come from the things they possess up to and including their physical assets and so being rejected by others will have relatively less impact on self esteem.

Gemini ♊︎

Geminis have an admirable capacity for taking rejection without getting too in their feelings about it. This is in part because they tend not to form deep attachments to anything. Geminis will likely attempt to try to talk the other person into changing their mind or get them to rethink or explain themselves further. They have a more capricious and sanguine disposition that allows them to move on relatively easily without hard feelings.

Cancer ♋︎

Rejection is really tough for a Cancer and this is the primary reason they avoid putting themselves out there in the first place. They are sensitive to judgment, but to their credit, many Cancers are able to develop something of an emotional callous that protects them from falling to pieces every time their feelings get hurt. But this generally comes with time and self awareness. Otherwise, Cancers are vulnerable to emotional overreactions depending on how attached they are to the person or thing they are being rejected by.

Leo ♌︎

As a sign ruled by the sun, Leos are very prideful. For them, rejection can be very wounding, but their sense of dignity generally prevents them from drowning in a puddle of self pity. A Leo with healthy self-confidence will be able to walk away with their composure intact. The more ego-centric Leos are likely to convert the hurt of rejection into self-righteous wrath against their offender.

Virgo ♍︎

Virgos are sensitive to rejection but their reaction to it tends to be a modest acceptance of it. Virgos are famously humble and self critical. There is very little you could criticize them about that they aren’t already aware of in themselves. Virgos can be very good at taking rejection in stride and using it as an opportunity to improve themselves in some form or another.

Libras can take rejection as an affront to their value as a person. However, they can be super good at parting ways on amicable terms. Libras often take rejection as simply a lack of compatibility. They generally understand that things don’t always work out and are able to pick up the pieces and look elsewhere in short order.

Scorpio ♏︎

For Scorpios, rejection can sometimes feel like the end of the world. The extent to which rejection affects them depends on how intensely they cared. Consequently, they can take rejection really hard and sometimes respond in extreme and radical ways. However, in face of emotionally devastating disappointments, Scorpios have a capacity to withdraw into themselves and find ways to self-heal and come back stronger.

Sagittarius ♐︎

For Sagittarius, rejection can be upsetting, but at the same time, they appreciate the freedom they have to move on after the fact. Sagittarians tend not to put all their eggs in one basket anyway. They have a great capacity for putting things in perspective and seeing the bigger picture so as not to get too bent out of shape over a momentary loss or disappointment.

Rejection can affect Capricorns in a rather beneficial way. More often than not, it motivates them to work harder to prove their worth. For them, success is definitely the sweetest revenge against someone who discounted them or deemed them to be not good enough.

For Aquarians, rejection certainly doesn’t sit well with them but they have a remarkable capacity for not taking it too personally. The Aquarius person may often see it as a failure on the other person’s part to recognize their value and well, so be it. Aquarians are eager to prove their worth elsewhere and they may be particularly motivated to make their rejector regret their decision in the long run.

Pisces ♓︎

Rejection can leave a Pisces feeling disillusioned and temporarily lost. This sign in particular should take care not to resort to self-destructive habits in an effort to ease the pain. Pisces are prone to a denial of reality that can make it challenging to deal with rejection in an honest or objective fashion.
